Setting Up Your Account on XP
 The following settings are for Windows XP. For other Windows products or Mac systems, please call our Tech Support line at 1-877-580-5901.

Creating your new LigonierWeb connection:

  • Click on the Start button on the toolbar.
  • Click on the Control Panel selection.
  • Double-click on the Network and Internet Connections icon.
  • Double-click on the Internet Options icon. If you can not find it click on Switch to Classic View.

Internet Properties:
On the Internet Properties screen, click on the "General" tab. In the section called "Home Page" enter the following address in place of whatever currently appears in the box:

  • Click on the "Connections" tab.
  • Under the connection section, click on the "Setup" button. The Internet Connection Wizard will start.

Internet Connection Wizard:

  • Click on Connect to the Internet. Click "Next."
  • Click on Setup my connection manually. Click "Next"
  • Click on Connect using a dialup modem. Click "Next."
  • Type in for a connection name. Click "Next."
  • Type in the local access phone number we gave you (see below). Click "Next"
  • Type your user name and password.
    Username must consist of your new email address. Example:
  • Type the password in again at Confirm password. Click on "Next"
  • Uncheck Turn on Internet Connection Firewall for this connection. If you wish to use this function, please consult your WinXP manual. In order to make your Internet connection easier at this time, please disable this feature. Click on "Next"
  • Completing the New Connection Wizard.
  • Click on Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop. Click on "Finish."
  • The Connect window should appear. Click on "Dial" to tell the computer to dialup to the internet.

Dial-up Numbers:
If you have a 238 Ligonier number, use:
724-259-4028      724-441-0089    or   724-441-7204

If you have a Stahlstown 593 number, use:

Set Up Outlook Express for email:

  • At the computer desktop, double-click on the Outlook Express icon.
  • Click on "Tools"
  • Click on "Accounts"
  • Click on the "Mail" tab at the top of the window.
  • Click on "Add"
  • Click on "Mail"
  • Your Name.

Under Display name, enter your name (for example, John Doe).

  • Click on "Next"
  • Internet E-mail Address
    • E-mail address: (Please replace the word "userid" with the User ID provided to you when signing up with
    • Click on "Next"
  • E-mail Server Names
    • My incoming mail server: POP3
    • Incoming mail(POP3 or IMAP) server:
    • Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:
    • Click on "Next"
  • Internet Mail Logon.
    • POP account name: Please enter the User ID as shown above.
    • Password: Please enter the password you used to setup your connection.
    • Click on "Next"
    • Click on "Finish"

Connecting to the Internet:

  • Double click on ligonierweb short-cut or...
  • Double click on the Internet Explorer icon (the big blue E).

Disconnecting from the Internet:

  • Double click on the connection icon in your system tray The system tray is normally located in the lower right hand corner of your screen next to the time clock. The connection icon looks like two computers with green lights, wired together.
  • Click on "disconnect".
